THE KIT
Beautiful and efficiently designed ADU kits that comply with California State Energy Code and State ADU Regulations.
Materials and systems are selected for their sustainability, health benefits to occupants and rely on standard construction methods for assembly.
Plans include material lists and take-offs needed to build the pre-designed ADU and are separated into three packages: Rough, Windows, and Finishes.
THE TEAM
We have put together a seasoned team of consultants in the ADU space to create this product. We are passionate about housing equity, the impacts of the building industry on the environment, and building toxicity.
DESIGN
Design is optimized for low to no waste, minimal lumber cuts on site, standard lumber sizing, minimal framing needed to meet structural requirements, minimum number of parts, cost of materials, efficiency of build using standard methods and materials.
Unlike pre-fab or modular, this ADU home can be assembled on any lot, regardless of site access.
LOW ENTRY COST
Without compromise, an affordable ADU option that can supplement a path to sustainable homeownership, fit on most sites, respect the environment, and implement materials that limit contribution to asthma or other health conditions.
FLEX
Roof and siding selections vary between projects. We leave these selections up to you.
Strategic openings are interchangeable and optional allowing for windows and doors to pop in and out in response to site needs.
Every inch counts and we've included opportunity for storage space above bedrooms and baths. Common areas are vaulted.
INFILL
Urban infill is a very sustainable way to create housing, but it comes with many challenges that can add cost and feasibility issues such as site access and local labor force limitations. Finishes are often a bottleneck in custom projects. The Build Kit provides a standardized, optimized, lower cost solution that feels custom.
